#tbt to young Taylor

Pretty sure this was the first time I saw Taylor live when she performed in Scranton, PA in 2008
Let me tell you what Taylor Swift is. She’s a kickass songwriter. That girl knows what she’s doing. And whatever she does for the rest of her life, she will always be a great songwriter and have my respect. John Rich on Taylor (x)

We’ve always watched her career, and it’s been absolutely amazing. From such a young age, the talent she’s possessed and the forthrightness she’s gone about her whole career with, I think she’s just exceptional and has been an amazing role model in our industry and in our genre. Just across the board, a total class act. Big Kenny on Taylor (x)

You’ve got to love Taylor Swift and what she has done. I equate her with Bruce Springsteen. I wrote a piece about her in Country Weekly magazine a while back, about an older guy’s feelings for Taylor Swift. I can’t identify too much with some of the songs she sings — I’m 65 years old, for crying out loud — but do I love her? Yes, I do. I think she’s a great example for kids these days. Do I think she’s gonna get bigger and bigger and bigger? I’d say the sky is the limit for Taylor. Joe Bonsall on Taylor (x)

My God, she’s huge now. Nobody really knew who Taylor was at that time, and it was me and her and Ronnie Milsap. It was a great package. I don’t know how many people she played for before then, but it was a little different for her, especially going with the round stage because it’s a little different anyway. But, man, she took to it like a duck to water. I mean, it was just a couple of nights before she had it down, and she’s a great entertainer. I love Taylor. “I was listening to a lot of late 80’s pop, because I really loved the chances they were taking I loved how bold they were. So being inspired by that I started delving into the late 80’s - and what I found was that it was apparently a time of limitless potential. And the idea that you can do what you want, be who you want, wear what you want, love what you want - bright colors, bold chances, rebellion. The idea of that was so inspiring to me…but basically in thinking about that, and thinking about how this new album is a bit of a rebirth for me because it’s so now. I’ve never really made these kinds of changes before. And having been born on December 13th, 1989…this album is called 1989.”
Taylor Swift Joins The Voice as a Season Seven Advisor

The “Shake It Off” singer, 24, will be joining the upcoming seventh season of the NBC competition show as an advisor. A source tells Us that Swift will serve in the same capacity that Coldplay singer Chris Martin aided the show in its sixth season, advising contestants across all four teams.
